FAQ

Snowcastle AudioLabs Studio
  • What is Snowcastle AudioLabs
We are a division of the Indie Studio Snowcastle Games, based in Oslo, Norway, focused on providing top-tier sound and music services tailored specifically for visual media projects and artists.
  • What services do you offer?
Our services range from music scoring and production, foley recording, sound design, voice-over recording and design, along with the capability to handle mixing from Stereo to Spatial Audio. As a certified Dolby Atmos studio, we specialize in crafting Atmos mixes not only for music tracks but also for games, films, trailers, and beyond.
  • How much does it cost?
Our pricing is customized to align with the budget and specific requirements of each project we work on. Feel free to reach out to us for a personalized quote by contacting us here.
  • Are your services only for games?
No, our team has experience working on a variety of projects, from films to games, VR, and trailers. We are happy to chat with you about the project you are currently working on. Please reach out to us by dropping a message here, and we'll get back to you.
  • What DAW (Digital Audio Workstation) do you work with?
Our team works on a variety of software, though for the Dolby Cinema, we are mostly focused on using Logic Pro. However, if you have a session in Nuendo/Cubase, Pro Tools, Studio One or Ableton Live, we would gladly get a license to work on that with you.
  • Do you specialize in Audio Middleware?
We are happy to work with what is best for you. We have a team of FMOD and Wwise specialists, as well as audio designers and programmers who can work directly on Unity or Unreal Engine native audio. On top of that, we also have experience with Elias Software, and Fabric and are happy to learn new tools.
  • Do you implement the audio after it's done?
We are passionate about audio implementation and systems, so it would be our pleasure to handle it for your project, seamlessly integrating it into both middleware and the engine you are currently working with.
  • Do you work with studios outside Norway?
Yes, we work with studios all over the world.
  • I have a work in progress. Can you still help me?
Certainly! Reach out to us here and send some of the details of your project, so we can help you.
  • What is Dolby Atmos
Dolby Atmos has reinvented how entertainment is created and experienced, allowing creatives everywhere to place each sound exactly where they want it to go, for a more realistic and immersive audio experience. Whether you’re gaming, watching your favorite movie or show, or listening to that new track on repeat, Dolby Atmos transports you into a spatial sound experience that draws you in deeper, so you hear more and feel more. • Games have had 3D audio for years, so why would Dolby Atmos make a difference for me?
Though games have used 3D audio technology to add sounds on a space for over two decades, Dolby Atmos adds three important benefits to game development: You make one mix and whatever system and platform your player is using (considering it is Dolby Atmos enabled), it will play that mix faithfully, without a need for separate Stereo, 5.1, 7.1, and headphone mixes of the project. You can use higher-count channel-based or object-based audio such as ambiences and music. Objects location on a Dolby Atmos mix are better defined, giving the player better spatialized-audio than the regular 3D audio provided by game engines and middleware.
